OPENCORES: OpenCores changes
OpenCores improvments
In order to improve the services and statistics of the usages for different IP cores, we need to change some procedures on OpenCores.
As a true open-source community it is critical that OpenCores provide relevant statistics back to the community. This is vital information to the developers, especially to determine the verification level. This will hopefully provide an even higher credibility of OpenCores IP and take OpenCores to the next level. These initial improvements include the following changes:
- All downloads of files/cores requires the user to be logged in on OpenCores.
- Both new- and existing users need to update their profile.
With these changes we will be able to create much better statistics, which will hopefully attract more engineers to help-out with both design and verification of new/existing cores. Both these items are critical to provide a solid open-source IP technology platform. We hope that all users fully support our vision and accept these improvements.
