Spread the word of OpenCores
OpenCores has today about 1 million visitors every month! It is a huge number but we want to attract even more engineers to use OpenCores. This will of course benefit us all – more engineers at OpenCores means:
• more people developing new IPs
• more people using, testing and verifying the cores
• more people in the forums helping each other solving design problems As you understand there are only positive aspects if we become more people at OpenCores, and therefore I hope we all will contribute to get even more engineers experience and benefit from OpenCores. If all of us send the information about OpenCores to all our friends and contacts that might have an interest of the content of OpenCores, and also ask them to inform all their friends and contacts, we will get a good circulation of the information. With this email I would like to inform you about the great site and community “OpenCores” (www.opencores.org), which I think will be useful for you. OpenCores is the world’s largest site/community focusing on open source development of hardware IP cores. Today there are about 1 million engineers visiting the site every month and there are approximately 500 different projects running on OpenCores - they are all open source and license free. All cores can be downloaded from the site and be used in different development projects. Hopefully you will find many of the cores suitable and hopefully you will also contribute to the site by testing and develop new/own cores. At OpenCores there are also some good discussion forums which is very useful to get help and discuss different design issues.
