    Someone *please* correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the general difference is:

    If your cores were LGPL, anyone could use it in whatever design they
    wanted, but if they changed any of the cores you released in the
    process, they would have to release their changes.

    If your cores were GPL, and someone used them in a design, their
    entire design would have be released under the GPL.

    At least, that's my understanding (or misunderstanding).
