Subject: Re: [oc] Problems with AX8 and Xilinx XST
HI,
I dont know any of these things that you pple are discussing in this mail, but about XST, I learnt thru a hard way that it doesnot support gated clocks at all!! Synplify does support them!
hope this info would help you pple!
hm,
the core synthesis OK with XST !
but as of my understanding it is non functional, due to problems in the core.
have you tried to run complex AVR programs as tests and do they execute OK? maybe I am wrong (and the core is OK). I made quick test for all AVR cores, and none of them is OK :( but maybe I wasnt doing good job testing.
http://www.graphord.com/forum there is some review of AVR cores, correct me if some of the info is wrong
the AX8 (if I remember correctly) has some problem with register ram fetches, and cant function correctly AS IS. I looked at tried to fix quickly, failed and postponed that attempt.

Optimism is not the result of blinding oneself to problems, but of always believing there is a solution. Be Optimistic!!
To Succeed in a new field, make a new discovery, or do anything new in life, you have to be courageous enough to face the failures.
Success is a wonderful thing but cannot teach you more than what failure can. Winners in the game of Life are not those who never tasted failure, but are those who turned the tides of failure to victory thru hard work and continuous faith in the calibre of oneself. Have faith in yourself!!
