The original question did not reference placement of
asynchronous ring oscillator of 3 NOT gates. The
subsequent response from Renaux was in regard
to the frequency of a counter. (not the response
of an oscillator to temperature change).

However, my interpretation of the original post
was "How can I read the temperature of the
core and then incorporate that into a control
for a fan". Your suggestion of the ring
oscillator is a good one for the means of
creating part of the temperature sensor.
The feed-back control to the fan has yet to
be discussed. This would include maybe a
counter and some other circuits as well as
possibly the use of I/O pins.

My only point was that the discussion is
amongnst engineer types. We tend to assume
statements from other engineers don't have
    "silly" mis-interpretable mistakes such as
stating the inverse of a condition. I was
    simply pointing this out.
