No, simple animated gifs that confine themselves to their designated frames
are fine. I am referring specifically to the animations that appear to be
displayed in transparent, borderless popup windows. They are even more
annoying than standard popups because they obscure the content and cannot be
sent behind the browser window while open. They seem to be designed so that
if you try to close them before they have run their unnecessarily lengthy
course, you are forced to view their parent website.
