    The problem with rating systems is they tend to collect only
    negative responses. When a core works without problems
    then the user is inclined to not respond (as they are too busy
    trying to get their project done). Perhaps an automated system
    for core downloading could be employed that would benefit
    the OC community. It would work something like this
    
    On the download page you select the reason for downloading
    
        (o) Using core for educational purposes
        (  ) Using core for commercial product
        (  ) Using core for one-off device
        (  ) ...
    
    Then periodically (say once a week) the system generates an
    automatic survey that is emailed to the downloader. The recipient
    can then check-off a list of responses tailored to the particular
    use. They can also elect to be taken off the email survey system.
    The system should also include a comment section.
    
    In this manner statistics about the core can be generated. A
    potential user can review the statistics that are pertinent to
    their use prior to investing too much of their time.
