    Dear OC community,

I think we should strive to get good reputation, to get commercial usage of
the cores. Especially for ASICs, individuals usually do not have enough money
    to make ICs.
I am happy that companies use OC for advertising purposes in such way that
Maxim did (those cores could be very valuable for some OC users).
I don't think banning the Maxim is the right option or to delete the core, but
I completely agree with Rudi that this is a Maxim was deceiving users (which
is very common for commercial world but not acceptable in open community).
I think together we should make sure that such things don't happen again.
Instead of forcing companies to write their comments we could mark some cores
    as commercial or crippled.
Real OC users can then make testbenches or update existing and make the core
real OC core. Then we can remove the crippled mark.

BTW: I think the response of some people was very strong and immediate, not
because what Maxim did was so wrong as it was pointed out in last emails, but
because we (me included) were/are afraid that one crippled core would make
    all OC cores look crippled.
In that sense I can really understand Rudi, who also advertises his services,
by providing free cores, that he was bit scared for his investment in OC.

    Marko
