Thanks to all who responded! To summarize my impression, symplify
is a better synthesizer for heavily constrained projects, but is not
significantly better for laxer ones. I'll give it a new try, pushing
timing to the limits, and see it in action. By the way, does it mean
that if area is the concern and not speed, then I am better off with ISE?

Xilinx guys confirmed today that they sent out and my way a trial version
of ISE 6 - so it is already available. Is this the new news? :)
