I use RedHat9 I believe, and others use various other distributions, I think
Debian works also very well.
I suggest you have a look at the archive as it was discussed in the past
several times how to install toolchain and the simulator.

I would like to install a GNU Toolchain including simulator and debugger.
Which linux os preferable to install the same and where I can get the Cross
compiler and simulator.
How should I install it.
