Subject: [openrisc] OR1200 compiler
I have tried building on Mandrake 10.1 using gcc 3.4.3 as native compiler according to http://www.asisi.co.uk/or1kecos_0_4.html and unfortunately it does this time get stuck in newlib for the reason Javier mentioned - i.e. it needs machine support. Not quite sure why it builds OK using earlier versions of gcc now.
I might take a look at this - the newlib FAQ says it's pretty straightforward.
