I've talked to people who maintain the mainline gcc. The erroneous code
appears in lots of places, and my fix addresses only a few of them, just
enough to make the compiler work. The bug has been reported, and will
probably be fixed in the mainline sooner or later. The gcc bugzilla
    number is 12754.

Since all you linux people are not affected anyway, I don't think its
necessary to submit it to the opencores cvs. Should anyone need the fix,
they can get it from me.
