    Centos is free and fully compatible with software designed exclusively
    for RedHat.

    In general 64 bit x86 versions of Linux run 32 bit code just fine (at
    least RH EL 3 and 4). At most, you might have to install 32-bit
    versions of some libraries in addition to the 64-bit versions. May not
    be as good as 64-bit version for a large project, but at least it will
    work and the main OS will be 64-bit.
