I had the same problem a while ago, and didn't succeed in finding any SPI "standard" either (for the low-speed version). I ended up using a Motorola 68HC08 datasheet: http://www.freescale.com/files/microcontrollers/doc/data_sheet/MC68HC08AB16A .pdf
